Present Continuous = Present Progressive

FORM:

Verb to be (Present Simple) + verb (infinitive)+ing

Ex: I am learning English. The cat isn’t playing. Are they sleeping?

walk – walking sleep – sleeping listen – listening

have – having live – living cycle – cycling

run – running cut – cutting swim – swimming sit – sitting

exceptions: die – dying tie – tying lie – lying

USE:

We use the Present Continuous/Present Progressive to talk about activities happening now.
